In another desperate effort to prop up the British Ponzi housing market David Cameron is offering council tenants £75,000 to help buy their own homes. 

You don't have to be a political economist to see the common sense truth of addressing the land question and capturing the value.

As anyone familiar with classical political economy knows, true property rights are rooted in self-ownership. 

The commodification of land itself is not the issue. The issue is who gets the benefits of the access rights.
The Scottish people need an outbreak of candour, honesty and courage from our politicians on housing realities.

Land rent, returns on speculative investments, especially those that involve market manipulation, and the benefits enjoyed by some from the way money is created, all constitute unearned wealth. But are profits also unearned?

When we look at the News International, Metropolitan Police and British Political debacle we begin to get the scale of the rot at the core of the Western democratic process. 

Perhaps it’s something in the air, but this year has seen the emergence of a whole new genre of books, about tensions between the generations. If the claims of David Cameron and Nick Clegg are to be taken at face value, here in the UK we now live under a radical transforming government unprecedented in its progressive ambition. Of course, there is nothing in the coalition agreement to justify the hyperbole, but there may be a glimmer of hope.
